|
Michael Linn won event No. 49 ($1,500 no limit hold’em) to take home his first bracelet and $609,493. He defeated Taylor Larkin in a two-hour heads-up match.
There were 23 players who returned on the final day to play down to a champion. Linn entered the day with the chip lead and he ended the day where he began, at the top of the chip counts. It took five hours to get down to the official final table with John Myung bubbling in 10th place.
Linn entered the final table fourth in chips but he hung around until the table got four handed. That’s when he knocked out Ben Smith (4th) and Anonymous (3rd) to enter heads-up play against Larkin with a 2-1 chip lead. Larkin did manage to double up a few times, but Linn finally managed to claim his first bracelet when Larkin’s Q-J could not outrun Linn’s A-2 on the final hand of the night.
