Freddy Deeb greatly improved his chances of making it to the second round of the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament 3 by winning his second match. The victory gives Deeb 10 points, which he added to the 3 he brought into the match. Thirteen points puts Deeb right in the thick of things and with three matches to go, he's in great shape to earn enough points to advance.

Phil Hellmuth vaulted to near the top of the leaderboard for placing second. That's Hellmuth second second-place finish in as many matches, which gives him 14 points. Next week, he faces a table consisting of Jennifer Harman, Johnny Chan, Card Player CEO Jeff Shulman, Mike Sexton, and Chris Moneymaker.

Erick Lindgren placed third in this match, which was good for 5 points. He added that to the 7 he earned during the first round for a second-place finish.

Barry Greenstein, who also brought 7 points to the match, finished fourth this time. That brought his points total to 10.

Eli Elezra, who had 3 points thanks to a fourth place finish in round one, did little to improve his chances of reaching the second round by finishing fifth. He now has 4 points.

Actress Jennifer Tilly came well short of repeating her first-round feat of finishing second and was the first player to be knocked out. Instead of putting herself into a position to coast into the second round, she will have to have at least two top-three finishes if she hopes to advance. She has 7 points.

PSIT 3 is shown on FSN at 8 p.m. local times and is repeated throughout the week. Check local listings for show times. To view CardPlayer.com's complete coverage of the series, click here.
