A strong local and international field is expected for the eighth annual Irish Poker Classic main event which begins today at the Macau Sporting Club, Cork, Ireland.
The €1,000 + €100 buy-in main event has a €100,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The schedule for the festival also includes a number of no-limit hold’em events with buy-ins ranging form €20 to €400 as well as a €350 + €35 pot-limit Omaha game (taking place this evening at 9 p.m.).
Last year the festival was voted Best Poker Tournament at the Irish Sports Betting Awards and the main event was won by Peter “Knuckles” Higgins.
The Festival began on Aug. 16 and will end on the last day of the main event, Aug. 22.
