Chris Green aims to scale Mont SnowdonA casino manager from Bristol, England aims to set an unusual poker record while raising money for charity next month.

Chris Green, general manager of the Grosvenor Casino, Bristol will trek to the top of the 3,500 foot-high Mount Snowdon with nine colleagues before playing a game of poker to raise £10,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Green said of his challenge, “I completed the 3 Peaks Challenge last year and it was the toughest thing I’ve ever done. I’m really looking forward to the buzz of achieving
something of this scale with a group – it will be a real challenge.

“We came up with the idea of playing a high stakes poker tournament during one of our regional meetings but I didn’t think we’d actually go ahead and do it!

“Across the Rank Group we’ve already raised over £185k for Marie Curie in 2010. Another £10,000 from this event will really help us on our way to the £200,000 target.”
