The PokerStars.net Million Dollar Challenge is back for a second season.

Returning to FOX on Sunday, September 19, the seven-episode series will once again give contestants a chance to win a grand prize of $1,000,000. To claim the prize they must survive several rounds of heads-up poker action against a variety of opponents.

If the contestants beat a celebrity opponent in round one, they win an all-expenses paid trip to the Bahamas and will advance to round two. This year’s celebrity defenders include Dancing with the Stars’ Brooke Burke, NFL Hall of Famers John Elway and Barry Sanders, Playmate of the Year Sara Jean Underwood, and former NBA great Gary Payton.

If the contestants top a Team Pokerstars Pro in round two they can take $25,000 and run, or risk it to play Daniel Negreanu for $100,000 and a seat in the finale at the end of the season. It’s at that final tournament that the six winners from the season will play each other and the last player standing will go heads-up against Negreanu for the seven-figure prize.

FOX’s Chris Rose hosts the series, with reporting from Michelle Nunes. Episodes will air Sundays following NFL broadcasts, with new episodes on September 19 and 26, October 10 and 24, November 7 and 21. The season finale will be shown on December 12.

Last year, retired NYPD officer Mike Kosowski went the distance and beat Negreanu for the $1 million.
