Todd and Eyster Chop

Eugene Todd raised to 2,700 preflop and Kevin Eyster was his only caller. The flop brought 4K10 and both players checked.

On the turn the 3 hit and Eyster fired out 3,300, Todd called.

The river brought the 5 and Eyster threw out another 6,100. Todd called and showed A10 versus Eyster’s A10.

Both players stared at each other’s cards for a second and realized they were both going to get half the pot. Todd is sitting on 64,000 chips while Eyster has 37,000 to work with.

Kevin Eyster Hands His Chips To Travis Pearson

Kevin Eyster opened from the cutoff and Jason Mercier three-bet from the button. Travis Pearson then four-bet from the small blind. For how much? Bet sizes be damned, we don’t got ’em.

Action folded back around to Eyster, who decided to five-bet all in. Mercier easily folded, but Pearson snap called, showing pocket kings. Eyster revealed A-Q and it failed to connect, ending his tournament run. Pearson now has 788,000 in chips.

Incredibly, we managed to lose seven players during a five-minute stretch and the line at the payout table isn’t getting any shorter. We’ll have a list of those in-the-money eliminations shortly.

Kevin Eyster Eliminated by Joe Hachem

Joe Hachem, Keven Eyster, and Per Ummer all paid the price of admission to see a 10 8 7 flop. Eyster got all of his chips in and Hachem made the call. Ummer got out of the way and the two live players flipped over their cards:

Hachem: 9 6
Eyster: 10 7

Turn and River: 8 and 3

Esyter was eliminated on the hand and Hachem grew his stack to more than 800,000.

Nicolas Levi raised to 26,000 and Kevin Eyster called on the button and the big blind. The flop came down 966 and Levi continued with a bet of 39,000.

Eyster called and the turn was the 7. Levi then checked and Eyster bet 88,000. Levi moved all in for another 188,000 and Eyster made the call showing Q6 for trips.

Levi showed down 74 for a pair and a flush draw, but missed when the K hit the river. Levi is out and Eyster is up to 1.7 million.

On a board reading AJ6Q with about 200,000 in the pot, Kevin Eyster bet 182,000 and Mikhail Smirnov moved all in for about 200,000 more.

Eyster called with A6 for two pair and Smirnov could only show QJ for worse two pair. The river was the K and Eyster is now up to 1.3 million in chips.

Roger Hairabedian raised to 135,000 and Kevin Eyster moved all in behind him for 960,000. Hairabedian took a long while, but eventually called with pocket queens. Eyster was a bit upset he took so long to call and rolled over AQ.

The board fell 973910 and Eyster, the chip leader to start the day, was eliminated from the tournament.

Eyster showed QQ, but he was behind to McCorkell’s KK. The board ran out A10986 and McCorkell doubled up to the chip lead with over 3 million.
