Adam Volen Takes A Seat

Adam Volen is no stranger to success on the live felt. He topped a field of 307 entries to win the 2015 Card Player Poker Tour National Championship of Poker here in Los Angeles.

Volen is apparently also plenty skilled at online play, as he was able to win his way into this event in a satellite on Global Poker.

Volen has taken his seat during at the start of Day 1A, and will be looking to secure his second CPPT title. He is one of 30 players who won their way into this event through Global Poker’s satellites.

The tournament drew a field of 307 players over three starting days and $40,000 awaits the eventual winner. The final 31 players are in the money and will leave with no less than $900.

On the last hand of the night during hand-for-hand play, NM and Lane Lortscher were eliminated during the same hand and split the first payout of $900.

Adam Volen bested a field of 307 entrants to win the Card Player Poker Tour Hollywood Park National Championship of Poker Main Event. After four days of action, Volen left with $40,000 and the title of CPPT Champion.

This was Volen’s second CPPT main event final table. The California pro finished fourth in the 2014 CPPT Bicycle Casino main event for $43,155, his largest live cash to date. With $40,000 from the HPC main event win, Volen now has nearly $170,000 in live tournament earnings.

The tournament seemed to go Volen’s way from start to finish. Volen bagged a massive chiplead on Day 1A and held it as the final day of play began. Volen again had the chip lead when the final table began and never lost it.

Volen secured the final knockout of the day when he had over eight million in chips to runner-up Frank Lin’s roughly 1.2 million. Lin moved all in with Q9 and Volen called with AJ. A board of 6227A crowned Volen the latest winner on the CPPT.

This was the CPPT’s second time at Hollywood Park Casino, with the first event being held one year ago nearly to the date.

The tournament drew a field of 307 players over three starting days and $40,000 awaits the eventual winner. The final 31 players are in the money and will leave with no less than $900.

On the last hand of the night during hand-for-hand play, NM and Lane Lortscher were eliminated during the same hand and split the first payout of $900.

Day 2 will begin at 2 pm on Oct. 25 with blinds at 5,000-10,000 with a 1,000 ante and play down to a winner. The final table, complete with commentary, will be live-streamed on CardPlayer.com.

Adam Volen Wins CPPT HPC National Championship of Poker Main Event ($40,00)

Adam Volen bested a field of 307 entrants to win the Card Player Poker Tour Hollywood Park National Championship of Poker Main Event. After four days of action, Volen left with $40,000 and the title of CPPT Champion.

This was Volen’s second CPPT main event final table. The California pro finished fourth in the 2014 CPPT Bicycle Casino main event for $43,155, his largest live cash to date. With $40,000 from the HPC main event win, Volen now has nearly $170,000 in live tournament earnings.

The tournament seemed to go Volen’s way from start to finish. Volen bagged a massive chiplead on Day 1A and held it as the final day of play began. Volen again had the chip lead when the final table began and never lost it.

Volen secured the final knockout of the day when he had over eight million in chips to runner-up Frank Lin’s roughly 1.2 million. Lin moved all in with Q9 and Volen called with AJ. A board of 6227A crowned Volen the latest winner on the CPPT.

This was the CPPT’s second time at Hollywood Park Casino, with the first event being held one year ago nearly to the date.
