With a flop of Q64 Hyon Kim checked to Dan Heimiller who bet 10,000. Kim check-raised to 100,000 which was enough to put Heimiller all-in. After some thought he made the call with the A6 for middle pair. Kim had plenty of outs with the A8 for the nut flush draw and a live overcard.
The turn brought the 4 to complete Kim’s flush and the 5 locked up the pot for him, sending Dan Heimiller to the rail.
Kim chipped up to 430,000 after the hand.a

On a flop of 532, Paul Hoefer was all-in for… a lot, and it was up to Hyon Kim to make a decision.
Kim went into the tank for nearly a minute before making the call with AJ, and Hoefer held a set with 22.
Kim started cheering when the 10 hit the turn, and his hand held when the K fell on the river. Hoefer, who finished runner-up in the summer CPPT Venetian main event to Javier Gomez, was sent to the rail. Kim now has 312,000.

Kim moved all-in and Linde called with pocket tens, which were ahead of Kim’s A10. The board ran out 9624Q and Kim was eliminated.

Cory Carroll opened to 8,000 and Hyon Kim reraised all in for 54,500. Carroll didn’t like it, but called anyway with A 9.
Kim showed pocket tens and they failed to hold on a board reading A Q 2 3 3. The remaining 27 players are now in the money.

Tough Fold From O'Brien

Four people just saw the flop for 6,000 each among which Hyon Kim and Dan O’Brien in the blinds.
The flop brought out 1098 and all four players checked.
On the turn the J hit and Kim bet 17,000 from the small blind. O’Brien called from the big blind and the two other players folded.
The river brought the 4 and Kim threw out another 45,000.
“Why so much?”
“How can I call now?” O’Brien said as he pondered making a call for at least three minutes. Ultimately O’Brien folded and dropped down to 285,000 while Kim is back up to 200,000.

Estafanous showed AJ and was up against Kim’s 88.
“Ace please!” Estafanous said.
The board read 46Q59 and Estafanous did not get what he wanted. Kim raked in the pot and is up to 190,000 chips.

Hyon Kim got the rest of his chips all in on a flop of Q 7 6 against Yevgeniy Timoshenko. Kim showed A 9 for the nut flush draw and Timoshekno showed 7 6 for bottom two pair.
The turn and river fell 8 9 and Timoshenko took down the big pot, putting his stack at 2,400,000. Kim earned $49,025 for his 25th place finish.
