Big Hands:
Set No Good, Rheem Takes a Hit
Action folded around to Ivan Demdidov in the cutoff. He raised it up to 650,000 and action folded to David "Chino" Rheem in the small blind. He repopped to 2 million total and Demdidov went into the tank. When he came out of the tank, he announced he was all in for almost 8 million. Rheem took some time of his own to think about what to do before making the call. He turned over 10
10
. He was in good shape against Demdidov's 9
9
. The crowd went nuts as the hands were set up for the cameras. The flop then came 10
8
6
, giving Rheem top set but also giving Demdidov a variety of outs. The turn brought the 4
and Demdidov spiked a flush. Rheem needed to pair the board to win the hand, but the 5
sealed the deal for Demdidov, who moved up to about 18 million. Rheem dropped down to 8 million.
Darus Suharto Doubles Through Joe Bishop
Bishop raised to 700,000 from the button and Darus Suharto repopped from the big blind. He made it 2 million to go and Bishop made the call. The flop came Q
6
5
and Suharto led out with 2.5 million. Bishop came over the top, moving all in for almost 10 million. Suharto made the call and turned over K
K
for an over pair. Bishop showed top pair on the board with A
Q
. The turn was the 6
and the river was the 2
and Suharto doubled up.
Bishop Doubles Another
Bishop raised to 600,000 from the cutoff and action was next on Kelly Kim in the small blind. He moved all in for about 2 million and Bishop called, showing 8
7
. Kim was in great shape as he showed 8

. The board ran out A

10

2
and Kim doubled up and Bishop was down to 2.4 million.
Bishop Trampled By the Wheel on the River, Busts in 11th Place
The fall of Joe Bishop would be complete a few hands later. He moved all in from under the gun and action folded around to David Rheem. He made the call and showed 2
2
. Bishop turned over A
3
and was racing against ducks. He flew ahead on the flop as it dropped A
5
3
. Bishop had two pair and Rheem needed another duck or a four to bust Bishop. The turn was a blank as the Q
hit the felt. But the river brought chaos as the miracle 4
showed up, knocking Bishop out of the main event and sending Rheem's supporters into a frenzy.
Phillips Wins 3 Million Preflop
Dean Hamrick raised to 550,000 preflop and Ylon Schwartz reraised to 2.2 million. Sitting behind Schwartz, chipleader Dennis Phillips asked for Schwartz's chip count and crossed his arms to think. He announced a reraise and popped it to 6 million straight. Hamrick mucked immediatley and Schwartz only took a few seconds to do the same, giving Phillips an additional 3 million for his already large chip stack without even seeing a flop.
Montgomery Crushes Chip Leader
Dennis Phillips raised to 500,000 and Scott Montgomery reraised to 2.2 million. Phillips made the call and the flop brought J
10
6
. Phillips checked, Montgomery bet 1.5 million and Phillips called. The turn was interesting, bringing the K
. Phillips checked again and Montgomery bet 2 million. Phillips called and the river brought the 9
. Phillips checked for the final time and Montgomery shoved out 4 million. Phillips took time to seriously consider his decision. He eventually called and Montgomery showed A
10
for the ace-high flush. Phillips mucked and lost a huge pot that had more than 15 million in it. With the pot Montgomery pased 20 million.

Gert Andersen Eliminated in 14th place ($463,201)
On the third hand after the dinner break on the featured table, Ylon Schwartz open raised for a total of 500,000. The action folded to Gert Andersen in the small blind, who reraised all in for his remaining 3,810,000 in chips. Schwartz quickly called and turned over A
K
, a strong favorite over Andersen’s A
J
. The tension was high as the flop came Q
10
2
, giving Andersen a gut-shot straight draw but removing the remaining jacks from his list of outs. The turn fell 8
, improving Andersen’s straight draw and giving him four additional outs. The 5
on the river was a miss, and Andersen exited the tournament area in 14th place to collect his $463,201 in prize money. Schwartz improved his chip stack to over 17 million, putting him in second place on the leader board.
Tough Rail!
The remaining two tables have attracted quite a crowd of spectators, including many notable poker pros who have showed up to sweat the action. The current list of railbirds at the secondary featured table includes Andy Bloch, Michael Mizrachi, Mel Judah, J.C. Tran, and Marcel Luske.
Chino Rheem Takes One Away from Darus Suharto
On a flop of A
J
4
, Chino Rheem checked to Darus Suharto. After some deliberation, Suharto counted out a bet of 475,000 and pushed it towards the middle. Rheem check-raised an additional 600,000, prompting Suharto to go into the tank. Suharto eventually made the call and the 8
fell on the turn. Rheem led out with a bet of 1,500,000, to which Suharto folded his hand. Rheem dragged the pot and stacked his chips, which now total over 11 million.
Kelly Kim Loses One to Joe Bishop
Kelly Kim open raised to 500,000 from his position under the gun, and the action folded to Joe Bishop in the big blind. After taking some time to fiddle with his chips, Bishop sloppily tossed out what appeared to be an arbitrary amount of chips. The dealer counted it down to discover that it was a reraise of an additional 1,060,000. Kim contemplated for a few moments before mucking his hand. As he took the pot, Bishop flashed the A
to his tablemates.

Players Remaining: 23 out of 6,844
Average Chip Stack: 5.95 million
Eliminations: Paul Snead (21st).
Big Hands and Storylines:
Cantu Can't Do Wrong
Peter Eastgate raised to 275,000, and was called only by Brandon Cantu in the small blind. Cantu checked the flop of 10
5
2
, but called Eastgate's continuation bet of 400,000. Both players checked the turn, the 10
. The river double paired the board with the 5
, and once again both players checked. Cantu turned over A
Q
, and his ace kicker was big enough to take down the healthy little pot.
...Or Can't He?
Kelly Kim raised to 275,000 before the flop. Brandon Cantu then reraised to 950,000, only to have Dean Hamrick move all in for 1,465,000. After some time in the tank, Cantu made the call and turned over...10
5
. The one time chip leader needed a lot of help to improve against Hamrick's A
A
. He got a little bit of assistance on the flop, which ran 8
7
5
, but was shot down to two outs when the turn brought the 8
. There was no five on the river for Cantu, who started counting down Hamrick's double up as the dealer placed the 10
on the felt a little too late. Cantu was left with the smallest stack in the tournament after the hand with only 2.4 million.
Ivan To Win
Chris Klodnicki raised it to 200,000 from under the gun. Ivan Demidov called the minimum raise from the big blind, checking the flop of Q
6
2
. Klodnicki made a continuation bet for 350, which Ivan called, but gave up in the hand after that point, checking behind on both the turn 8
and the river 2
. Demidov turned over 6
3
, and happily raked in the small pot.
Chop It Up
Peter Eastgate raised to 300,000, and was called only by Kelly Kim in the blind. Both players checked the flop of 9
4
2
, but Kim led out at the turn, the 5
, for 400,000. Eastgate made the call, and both players checked the river when the 6
fell, completing a possible flush. Neither player had the flush, however, instead showing A
9
and A

and splitting the pot.
Suharto Eliminates Cristian
Jason Riesenberg raised to 300,000, Darus Suharto made the call one from the cut-off, then Judet Toni Cristian reraised to 1 million total from the cut-off. Riesenberg folded, then Suharto announced all-in. He had Cristian covered, but the Romanian made the call and showed J
J
. Suharto revealed the K
K
. The flop came Q
10
9
, which meant each player held the other’s outs for any possible straight. The 5
on the turn and 5
on the river completed the board however, and Suharto eliminated Cristian in 22nd place.
Cristian had earlier gained valuable chips. He attempted to raise from early position, but was called for a string bet as he didn’t announce “raise” in time. That allowed Nicholas Sliwinski to limp into the pot as well, but when play came to Albert Kim in the small blind, he decided to throw in a raise himself, to 675,000. Jason Riesenberg folded from the big blind, and then Cristian, given a second opportunity, announced raise and moved all-in for 2.5 million. Kim made the call and showed 9
9
, but he trailed the A

of Cristian. The board finished Q
J
10
4
3
and Cristian doubled up.
Riesenberg Lays Down Aces
Jason Riesenberg raised to 275,000 preflop and drew two callers, David Rheem on the button and Dennis Phillips in the small blind. The flop came K
Q
10
, Phillips and Riesenberg checked, and Rheem bet 400,000. Phillips then check-raised to 1.4 million and Riesenberg and Rheem both folded. Riesenberg showed A

as he tossed his cards into the muck.

Schwartz got the king he needed on the turn. The river was the 7

Rheem Makes his Move
Chino Rheem was in the small blind and was the second player to call a raise to 220,000. Dennis Phillips also called from the big blind and four players saw the flop come 9
8
7
. Rheem checked and Phillips stepped out for 500,000. Chris Klodnicki, the original raiser, made the call, and after Judet Toni Cristian folded, Rheem then put in a check-raise for 1.5 million more. Both his opponents folded and Rheem took down the pot of over two million.
Suharto Successfully Uses All-in Twice
Darus Suharto had play folded to him on the button and raised to 210,000, which Judet Toni Cristian called from the big blind. The flop came 10
9
6
, and Cristian check-called a bet of 310,000 from Suharto. Both players checked after the K
fell on the turn, and then the Q
completed the board on the river. Cristian stepped out for a 500,000 bet, and Suharto then announced all-in. Cristian folded and showed A
7
, while Suharto revealed the K
10
for two pair.
In an earlier hand, Aaron Gordon had raised to 225,000 and Suharto called. Chris Klodnicki then reraised to 800,000 from the cut-off. Gordon folded, but Suharto then announced all-in for another 2.5 million. Klodnicki folded and Suharto took down the pot.
Suharto Eliminates Gordon
Aaron Gordon was all-in for his tournament life with the Q
10
, and found himself up against the pocket jacks of Darus Suharto. The flop came K
6
2
, with the 5
on the turn giving Gordon the flush draw. But the 7
on the river ended his main event and Suharto took the chips.
Riesenberg Shows the Bluff
Judet Toni Cristian raised to 230,000 preflop and was called by Dennis Phillips, chip leader to begin the day. Jason Riesenberg then called from the big blind and the flop came A
Q
J
. All three players checked and the 10
created an even more interesting board. Riesenberg bet 250,000 at the pot, Cristian folded, and Phillips called. The 3
was the river and Riesenberg bet 800,000. Phillips folded, then at the loud encouragement from his supporters on the rail to “show the bluff” Riesenberg did exactly that, flashing the 10
7
.
Nice Start for Phillips
In one of the first hands of the level, chip leade Dennis Phillips called an initial raise to 225,000 from Chino Rheem. Darus Suharto on the button then reraised to 825,000, Rheem folded and Phillips called. The flop came A
8
7
, and Phillips bet 700,000 at the pot. Suharto folded.
