Table 13 - Dewey Tomko Sitting in Robert Williamson's Seat, Negreanu Gets Aggressive
Hold'em
Lucky # 13 is currently home to Ralph Perry, John Hennigan, Dewey Tomko, Phil Galfond, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, and Perry Friedman. However, it was eventually brought to the dealer's attention that Dewey Tomko was sitting in the wrong seat. After double checking the seat cards, Dewey Tomko was supposed to be sitting at Table 15-seat 3, not Table 13-seat 5. Tomko got up to find his right seat as Robert Williamson III sat down in his rightful seat at Table 13. Confusion or not, this didn't stop Daniel Negreanu from becoming extrememly aggressive during the first limit hold'em portion of Level 1.
Daniel Negreanu raised to 1,200 from the cutoff and Ralph Perry called from the small blind. The flop came A Q 8 , and both players checked. The turn was the 3 and Perry bet 1,200. Negreanu raised to 2,400 and Perry folded his hand after a minute in the tank. Negreanu raked this pot along with the next two pots after a series of uncontested raises.

The turn was the A , Schulman fired 1,200 at the pot, Fitoussi called. The river was the 3 , and once agin Schulman bet 1,200, Fitoussi called. They turn over their hands.
Schulman: A 8 6 5
Fitoussi: K J 5 2
Schulman flopped two pair and turned the full house (aces full of eights) while Fitoussi flopped middle pair. Fitoussi made a qualifying low hand on the river and Schulman had to give him half the pot.
Harman Takes a Good Pot From Oppenheim on the River
Razz
Lyle Berman brought it in for 200 with the Q , Jen Harman completed the bet to 600 with the 2 , David Oppenheim called the raise with the 2 , and Berman folded.
Harman: 2 9 3 8 - A 7 5
Oppenheim: 2 7 4 J -X-X-X
Harman bet the entire way with Oppenheim calling her down through the river. Harman turned over the 7-5-3-2-A low and raked the pot, Oppenheim mucked his hand.
Negreanu's Aggression Still Paying Off
Stud
Heading back to Table 13, it appeared as if Negreanu had not slowed down at all, completing the bring-in to 600 with the Q exposed. John Hennigan called the raise with the K , as did Ralph Perry with the A , and Robert Williamson with the 10 .
Perry: A 9 6 - fold
Hennigan: K 10 7 6 - X-X-X
Williamson: 10 5 J 9 - K 10 8
Negreanu: Q 9 8 3 - Q -X-X
Negreanu continued to bet the maximum through sixth street. Perry folded on fifth street while both Hennigan and Williamson called for a showdown. All three players checked the river and opened their hands in turn. Williamson turned over a busted straight draw and a pair of tens. Hennigan mucked and Negreanu turned over a pair of queens. Negreanu raked a huge pot for only having one pair.
Freddy Deeb Defending His Title
Stud 8/b
Deeb completed the bet to 600 with the 7 and the player in seat 1 called the raise with the 4 .
Deeb: 7 8 5 2 - Q 8 8
Seat 1: 4 6 6 4 - X-X-X
Deeb took the betting lead from the start and continued to bet the entire way down. Seat 1 looked a little confused on the river as Abe Mosseri asked the table what game they were playing. "What game is this now? Stud Hi-Low?" Deeb said, "Why don't you be quiet, maybe the guy is playing the wrong game." Seat 1 called him down anyway, failing to improve his two pair on the river and Deeb turned over two more eights for trips. Seat 1 also failed to make a low hand, paying off the defending champ as Freddy raked another nice pot.

James “mig.com” Mackey, who has found quite a bit of success in mixed events this year, hit a bit of a road block in Alexander Kostritsyn in the last level. Kostritsyn raised to 12,000 on the button and Mackey upped it to 18,000 in the big blind. Kostritsyn called. On a flop of K J 6 , Mackey bet and the young Russian called. The holders of two of the biggest stacks of the tournament, Phil Ivey and Bill Chen, played an Omaha eight-or-better pot in the last round that resulted in a scoop for one of the two. Ivey raised from early position and it folded around to Chen in the big blind. Chen made the call and the flop came off 8 6 5 . Chen check-raised Ivey on the flop and Ivey made the call. Chen bet the 2 turn and Ivey made another call. Both players checked the 4 river and Chen showed Q Q 7 4 for a straight and a 7-low. Ivey rapped the table and Chen raked in a pot to move to 420,000 in chips. Ivey is not to be pitied though, as he ended the level with 500,000.

Michael Joseph completed with the 3 showing on third street, Perry raised, and Bonomo made it 18,000. Both Joseph and Perry called. On fourth street, Bonomo bet out with A 2 showing, Michael, having drawn a Q , folded, and Perry called despite drawing a jack. On fifth and sixth streets, Bonomo bet and Perry called. Both players checked the river and Bonomo tabled (3 )(2 )(J ). Perry surveyed Bonomo’s cards very closely, then scrutinized his own, before finally revealing (A )(5 )(5 ) for a J-5 low, narrowly edging out Bonomo’s J-8 low.
The pot gave Perry a stack of 245,000. Bonomo is hovering near the 300,000 chip mark.

Marcel Luske Eliminates Steve Sung
Steve Sung, desperately short-stacked, got his chips all-in against Marcel Luske. The news was bad for Sung when Luske showed (A )(Q )10 J K 3 for the broadway straight. Sung had a flush draw though – (9 )(5 )K Q 6 2 . Sung looked at his final card and then stood up and quickly left the table. After winning the pot Luske was up to 290,000.
James Mackey Eliminates Doug Ganger
Doug Ganger: 2 K 7 5
James Mackey: A 7 3 8
Mickey Appleman: K 4 10 8
With only a few thousand chips left, Ganger brought in with his deuce and found himself all-in on third street. Mackey bet every street on the hand and Appleman called him down all the way until seventh street where he folded. Mackey showed (A )(10 )(9 ) and that was good enough to take down the pot and eliminate Ganger. After some early trouble in the level, Mackey has bounced back to 250,000.

Davis Crippled, Then Ousted In 10th Place
Barry Greenstein raised to 100,000 preflop from the small blind. Raymond Davis made the call from the big blind and the flop came out A K 8 . Greenstein led out and Davis called. The turn was the 2 and Greenstein fired 100,000, which Davis quickly called. The river brought the A and Greenstein kept the pedal to the metal with another 100,000. Davis mucked angrily and was left with just 100,000.
Two hands later, Davis moved all in from the button and Patrick Bueno made the call from the small blind. Davis turned over A K , dominating Bueno's K 7 . But really, domination is really just a matter of perspective, especially when the flop comes 7 7 2 like it did. Davis was disgusted and needed help on the turn to stay alive. But the 5 left Davis drawing dead and the 5 on the river was the final clump of dirt on Davis' 10th place coffin.
Omaha-8
Ralph Perry Is the Final Table Bubble Boy in 9th Place
Perry raised to 100,000 under the gun and action folded around to Huck Seed in the big blind. Seed called and the flop came A K 6 . Seed led out with 50,000 and Perry raised to 100,000. Seed was not amused as he repopped it to 150,000. Perry did not take that slap lightly, as he raised to 200,000. After all the madness was over, Perry was all in and both players showed their hands.
Perry: J 4 A J
Seed: Q 7 3 2
Seed flopped the nut flush and had Perry's 4-low draw covered with a 3-low draw. The board finished out 10 and K and Perry was out in 9th place.
Eight-or-Better
Nguyen Sends Bach to the Rail in 11th Place
Scotty Nguyen: 8 8 10 7 (7 6 10 )
David Bach: 9 4 K 2 (A 9 -J)
Patrick Bueno: 3 A 6 5 (mucked)
David Bach was all in on 3rd street and Nguyen contested a side pot with Bueno. After all the cards had been dealt, Nguyen turned over two pair and Bueno mucked his hand. All eyes were on Bach who needed a miracle to get any piece of the pot. But when he turned his cards, he revealed a whole lot of nothing and he made his exit in 11th place.

Davis Scoops Pot, Triples Up
Raymond Davis, Michael Mizrachi, and Daniel Negreanu all called a series of pre-flop raises to see the flop come down A K 9 . Betting was rapid again, and when the 8 hit the turn, Davis bet out again for 36,000. Negreanu called and Mizrachi then raised to 72,000. It put Davis all-in for 59,000 total, and Negreanu called as well. The Q hit the river and both Negreanu and Mizrachi checked. Negreanu had a heart-flush draw plus a low draw, and missed both. Mizrachi held pocket kings with the nut-flush spade draw, and Davis scooped the pot when his A A held up to take the high, with no low coming.
The extra ammunition proved key when Davis eliminated Mizrachi a few hands later, when the game had switched to Razz. Through fifth street Davis was showing 7 6 5 , while Mizrachi had Q 8 6 . Mizrachi was all-in after sixth street, and Davis showed him his ace-three in the hole for a seven-high. Mizrachi, with ace-four-deuce, needed to improve his hand, but paired his deuce on seventh street to be eliminated.
Perry Sweeps a Monster
Ralph Perry raised to 36,000 under the gun, and Joseph Michael reraised to 54,000. Lyle Berman called, as did Farah Bonyadi in the big blind. The flop came Q 8 6 , and action was checked to Berman who bet 18,000. Perry and Michael called. The 4 came on the turn, and Perry bet 36,000. Michael stepped out of the way, and Berman called. The 5 was the river and Perry bet another 36,000. Berman reluctantly called, but he had walked into a monster. Perry held A 2 for the nut low, as well as 7 9 for the nut straight.
Lindgren Takes From Doyle
Doyle Brunson raised to 36,000 and drew calls from Ray Davis, Erick Lindgren, and Michael Mizrachi. Both blinds folded. The flop came 10 9 2 and Brunson led out for 18,000. Davis and Lindgren called. The board paired with the 10 on the turn and Brunson bet 36,000, which Lindgren called. The 8 on the river was followed by two checks. Lindgren flipped over K Q Q J for the straight, and Brunson mucked his hand.
Seven-Card Stud
Negreanu Rakes in Monster
It was four-way action with raises through fourth street with Daniel Negreanu, David Bach, Ray Davis and Erick Lindgren, creating a massive pot.. A Bach bet of 20,000 reduced the field to just Negreanu. After sixth street, Bach was showing K 9 9 4 , while Negreanu had J 10 7 5 . Bach bet 40,000, and Negreanu then put in a raise to 80,000. Bach called, and each received their seventh card. Bach checked and Negreanu bet another 40,000. Bach called, and Negreanu showed 5-5-10 in the hole for the full house to sweep in the chips.

Schulman Gives Half to Fitoussi
Omaha 8/b
Nick Schulman raised to 1,200 from the button and Bruno Fitoussi called from the big blind. The flop came A J 8 , and Schulman bet 600, Fitoussi called.

Big Stacks Tangle

Ralph Perry: 2 J 3 Q
Justin Bonomo: A 2 8 J

Big Hands:
Omaha 8/B

Schulman Gives Half to Fitoussi
Omaha 8/b
Nick Schulman raised to 1,200 from the button and Bruno Fitoussi called from the big blind. The flop came A J 8 , and Schulman bet 600, Fitoussi called.

Big Hands and Storylines:
Ralph Perry Loses a Pot To... Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer raised to 2,000 from the button and was 3-bet by Ralph Perry in the small blind. Raymer called and drew 1 card while Perry stood pat. Perry bet and Raymer called. Action was the same on the 2nd go-around. Then when both players stood pat on the third draw, Perry checked, Raymer bet, and Perry called. Raymer took down the pot with 8-6-5-3-2.
Ralph Perry Loses a Pot To... John Phan (and Busts)
First to act, Ralph Perry raised to 2,000. John Phan made it 3,000 from the button, and Perry called. After Perry drew 2 and Phan drew 1, Perry check-called Phan’s bet. On the 2nd draw, Perry took 2 again and, again, Phan took 1. And, yet again, Perry check-called. Both players took 1 on the final draw and Perry led into Phan. Phan called. Perry tabled 8-7-5-4-2 but he was undercut by Phan’s 8-6-5-4-3. This hand dropped Perry to under 30,000 and he would be knocked out by Phan later in the level.
Baxter Swaps Seats To Table’s Delight
The floorperson told the dealer at table no. 4 that she needed the big blind to move over to table no. 2. The person in the big blind of table 4 happened to be none other than Billy Baxter, and his departure was met by jubilation by those players he would be leaving. Chau Giang greeted the decision with a round of applause. Apparently 5 deuce-to-seven bracelets earns you a lot of respect.

Big Hands:
Williams Has Hellmuth Steaming
Tempers were getting frayed as the final 27 players continued play after the dinner break, and with only the top 18 players placing in the money. Williams and Hellmuth exchanged words on a hand when they were among five players to limp to see the flop come 7 6 2 . Jani Vilmunen led out for 20,000 and drew calls from Williams and Hellmuth. The 8 came on the turn and Williams bet 50,000, which Hellmuth called and got Vilmunen to fold. With two flush draws on board, it was the 8 which paired the board on the river. Williams bet 135,000 and Hellmuth made an exasperated fold, but not before his verbal reaction was deemed offensive by Williams. The two continued a quiet but heated discussion for several minutes before shaking hands and calling a truce.
In a previous hand involving the two, Hellmuth was on the button and raised to 18,000 preflop and action was folded to Williams in the cut-off who called. The flop came K Q 6 , and Williams checked to Hellmuth who bet 25,000. Williams then check-raised to 75,000 and Hellmuth eventually folded, though not before showing A A . Williams then dropped his cards in front of Hellmuth and offered him a chance to look, which Hellmuth accepted, to see that Williams held Q-J-10-6, for two pair with a flush draw and open-ender.
Gerasimov Eliminates Perry
On a flop of Q 8 7 , Kirill Gerasimov raised a 25,000 bet by Ralph Perry who opened from the small blind. Perry then moved all-in and Gerasimov called. Gerasimov held A Q 6 5 for top pair and open-ender with a flush draw. The flush came home after the 2 bricked on the turn but the 2 followed on the river. Perry had flopped two pair and held jack-high hearts.
Gerasimov also won a 135,000 when his pot-bet on the river against Brian Rast drew a fold, the board reading K 10 9 8 4 .
Hourani Eliminates Seidel
On the second hand when level 13 commenced, Daniel Negreanu bet 14,000 on a flop of Q 6 5 . Five players had limped to see the flop, and Adam Hourani called from the button, before Eric Seidel moved all-in from the big blind for 77,000. Negreanu folded and Hourani called. Hourani held A-Q-4-4 while Seidel had Q-9-5-2 for two pair. The 7 came on the turn but the A on the river gave Hourani a superior two-pair.
