Level 12 RecapJul 13, '07 The day started with an hour left in level 12 and 337 players. In just one short hour that number has decreased to 297 and the players are now on a 20 minute break. It's a Small World After All During the last level tournament official Nolan Dolla announced that today's field was one of the most diverse in the history of the World Series of Poker. There were 74 players that came from outside the borders of the United States and 27 different nations were being represented. Brutal Sylvester Geoghegan got all his chips into the middle thinking he had the best hand. His opponent, Vadim Trincher made the call with the same mindset. Both players turned over pocket nines, 9 9 for Geoghegan and 9 9 for Trincher. The flop came A A 6 and Geoghegan yelled out, "come on dealer, boat us up for fun." The turn was the 3 and Trincher realized he could be in trouble. The river was the J and Geoghegan won the pot with a four card flush, doubling up to over $150,000 and taking a large chunk out his opponent's stack. The Quiet Storm The ever quiet Daniel Alaei got off to a hot start on day four, building his chip stack to over $577,000. The player in seat eight at Alaei's table had over $500,000 and had gotten into the habit of making several preflop raises. Following one of his preflop raises, Alaei reraised all in. The player in seat eight had a decision to make for around $260,000. Alaei's opponent eventually called and showed the table A K. Alaei exposed A A with his tournament life on the line. The board came 7 6 4 J 7 and Alaei's aces held up. As Alaei collected his chips from the massive pot, a player at his table leaned over to another player and whispered, "Great, that's the last guy we need with chips." Pro Blogs Three of the biggest and most promising names in the field have agreed to share their day four experience with CardPlayer.com. You can hear from Chad Brown, Team PokerStars Member Humberto Brenes and internet phenom Sorel "Imperium" Mizzi.
