One of Southern California's premier gaming destinations recently unveiled a multiphase plan to enhance its amenities. San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in Highland, California, has launched a plan to provide new, much-needed facility amenities in response to customer demand.

"San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino responded to customer demand by implementing this strategy to better serve guests' entertainment needs," said Ron Mastandrea, general manager of San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino. "The enhanced amenities currently include new restaurants; upgraded bingo, cardroom, and slot areas; administrative offices; a parking structure; and much more."

The enhancement plans are designed to ultimately improve the entertainment experience for guests. The first-phase plans include a six-level parking structure that will provide a convenient and space-efficient parking option for customers, while alleviating parking congestion.

"These enhancements allow us the opportunity to provide our guests with the most superior full-service entertainment and gaming experience possible," said Jill Philbrook, marketing director. "Beyond the traditional gaming offerings, San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino is poised to become a competitive, all-inclusive entertainment destination."

This project, designed to drive Inland Empire economic stimulus and scheduled to conclude in the first quarter of 2005, will solidify San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino as one of the leading entertainment destinations in Southern California, offering patrons a wide array of gaming options.

"A complete upgrade of our current facility will position San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino as a leading entertainment spot in Southern California," Mastandrea added. "Enhanced state-of-the-art facilities will draw card players and other gamers alike to our casino from not only California, but hopefully the entire country."

Managing the Growth

Mastandrea brings extensive gaming experience to his position at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino, and will play an integral leadership role in the amenities enhancement process for the casino.

"I have worked in a casino management capacity for many years, and I have learned that keeping current on what the industry is doing and not allowing myself to get stuck in habit-driven management roles helps me stay positive and grow during periods of change," Mastandrea added. "By keeping this in mind, our enhancement plan will surpass our customers' expectations and demands in every way possible."

Mastandrea also charges all of the casino management with maintaining passion for their work and never stopping at second best. He believes this type of work ethic and managerial motivation starts at the top and trickles down, and ultimately inspires employees to continue to provide a premier gaming and entertainment experience for each and every card player and for all customers.

As San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino grows and increases its offerings for card players, bingo buffs, and slot aficionados, the entire gaming experience will be enhanced and magnified. Dianna Scina, director of customer service, takes on the role of concert and entertainment booking, and also stays close to customers to ensure that their needs are addressed throughout the entire enhancement project.

"As customer service director, I spend a great deal of time getting to know our guests and the kind of entertainment and amenities they are interested in seeing at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino," said Scina. "I try to keep our entertainment and other customer service selections fresh by creating a mix of different entertainers, promotions, and specials that will appeal to all of our patrons. These new amenities and options open up a whole new world of entertainment for our guests."

Legacy of Gaming Greatness

In the mid-1980s, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians invested in a high-stakes bingo operation near Highland, California, and San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino was born. That new bingo facility was enormously successful, and in 1994, the casino expanded to its current size of 95,000 square feet, including a cardroom and additional floor space for video machines – and by 2005, the casino will offer more comfort, dining, and entertainment options to patrons.

Since its opening, San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino has been a premier gaming establishment in the Inland Empire, drawing millions of visitors every year and paying out millions of dollars in cash, prizes, and giveaways. Poker players can enjoy stud, Omaha, and Texas hold'em 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Special poker promotions are held monthly, including tournaments, double jackpots, high-hand rewards, and many more.

In another area of gaming, the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino blackjack tables offer blackjack bonus hand payouts with the chance to win more with suited blackjacks, seven-card Charlie's, and consecutive blackjacks. Special blackjack promotions and amenities include tournaments, the famous Wacky Wednesdays with $25-$500 for every blackjack, and the casino's new pai gow tables.

Beyond gaming, celebrated entertainment acts such as Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias, Bad Company, and other musicians and comedians regularly take the stage at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino, offering high-quality and varied entertainment. Additionally, celebrity cover-bands and impersonators, Chippendale performers, Miss Hawaiian Tropic contests, and many others offer year-round live entertainment.

San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino's commitment to customer service continuously sets competitive standards while offering a comfortable, full-service entertainment, gaming, and dining destination. With smoke-free bingo and cardrooms, around-the-clock dining, celebrity entertainment, video poker, traditional slots, and cards, San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino is a great place to play 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
