The final $10,000 Regional Championship for the 2010-11 season of the World Series of Poker Circuit series began on Thursday, May 19 at the Harrah’s in downtown New Orleans. The tournament attracted 70 players on the first day of play and by the end of the night 44 remained. That number is expected to grow tomorrow with registration remaining open through the end of the first level of play on day 2.
After eight levels of poker professional Brandon Adams was at the top of the leader board with 136,150. The field was stacked with many professionals and some big names who have survived with Adams to play on day 2 include Kido Pham, Brian Roberts, Shannon Shorr, Kyle Bowker, John Dolan, Chad Brown, Dan Heimiller, Allie Prescott, Steve Brecher, Jonathan Aguiar, Matthew Waxman, Adam Levy, David Peters, Brian Lemke, David Baker, Will Failla, Tommy Vedes, and Joseph Cheong.
