Event 5 – $440 No-Limit Hold’em $100,000 Guarantee
Registration for event no. 5 of the inaugural Card Player Poker Tour Wynn Las Vegas closed on Thursday, with a final total of 478 entries made in the $440 buy-in no-limit hold’em event. As a result of the great turnout the prizepool swelled to over $185,000 in total, blowing away the $100,000 guarantee. Now only 59 players remain entering the final day, with 50 set to make the money and a top prize of $38,483.
The first starting day saw a number of notables make it through with including Phil Collins (276,100) and Jimmy Tran (92,200). The second starting day also saw plenty of recognizable faces survive, including Erika Moutinho (45,000), Sean Getwiller (60,000), Steve Billirakis (62,300,) Ben Palmer (80,200), Blake Kelso (292,200) and Brent Hanks (214,000). Hanks topped a field of 200 entrants to win event no. 3 at the CPPT Wynn, and also made the final table of the massive kickoff event, finishing seventh for $10,384.
