The final table is set at the Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville $1,500 main event. Nine players will return on Monday, September 9 at 2 p.m. ET to figure out who will walk away with the top prize worth $96,395 and CPPT title. You can watch every hand from that final table on the live stream video right here on CardPlayer.com.
Day 2 began with 55 players so there was a long march down to the final table, not to mention the business of busting the money bubble. That happened shortly before the dinner break around 6 p.m. this evening. Carleen Heath was the bubble girl, and she fell when her A-9 ran into a set of sixes held by Ben Beebe on a final board that read Q-J-6-10-2. Heath was eliminated in 28th place, while Beebe will take 268,000 into the final table.
The eliminations came quickly after the money bubble as expected. Five players fell in less than a half hour before the remaining field left for dinner. Stephen Bokor was the lone notable to cash in the money, cashing in 14th place for $4,131. Familiar faces that didn’t make the money and busted earlier in the day included David Tuthill and James Joyner.
The pace of play began to slow as the prizes paid out increased and players tightened up accordingly as the possibility of advancing to the final day of the tournament became a reality. So the final table was finally reached a little after 2 a.m. thanks to a very slow period of play on the final table bubble. The chip leader going into tomorrow is Belal Assi with 1,196,000. Other top stacks are TK Miles with just under a million and Rick Swain with 831,000.
