An impressive field of 230 players showed up for day 1A of the Card Player Poker Tour Choctaw $1,080 main event on April 10.

The $300,000 guarantee is sure to be crushed, as only 80 players are needed to meet that number.

Of the 230 players who entered day 1A, only 28 remained when chips were bagged for the night with Dan Lowery in the lead with 501,500. Jim Carroll bagged the second largest stack at 391,000.

A few who came – and left – during the first flight included World Series of Poker bracelet winner Larry Wright, who was sent to the rail when his pocket kings were outdone by quad jacks, Jonathan Gavaio, Shawn Rice, Nancy Nguyen, Lynn Samples and defending champion Austin Lewis.

Day 1B will begin April 11 at 12 pm and live updates will be provided throughout the day on CardPlayer.com.

Players have one final chance to earn a seat in the main event for a cheaper price in the 9 am $240 Last Chance mega-satellite the morning of April 11.
