Poker Player Dave Colclough Passes Away

European Star Loses Battle To Cancer At 52

David Colclough, who won European player of the year in 2003 and 2005, passed away last month at the age of 52. He had been battling cancer, according to reports.

In addition to being one of the original TV poker stars in the United Kingdom with the late David “Devilfish” Ulliott (also pictured right), Colclough also was involved with the business side of the poker industry. He was co-owner of the internet poker forum Blonde Poker.

Colclough was a computer programmer prior to his poker career.

Colclough had $2.6 million in lifetime tournament earnings dating back to 1995. He said back in 2011 that he was semi-retired from poker. He had been competing full-time since 2000.

The Welshman was close to a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2003, when he finished runner-up in a $1,500 pot-limit Omaha event. Colclough was inducted into the European Poker Players Hall of Fame in 2005. He was was the youngest inductee at that time.

He had five WSOP final tables in 17 lifetime cashes.
