Mouritsen was eventually thwarted by Fred Goldberg after his flopped flush went under to his opponent's higher flush. He picked up $125,895 for his efforts.
In day three of the $50,000 world championship H.O.R.S.E event , Bruno Fitoussi, Max Pescatori, Rob Hollink, and Thor Hansen were the Euro combatants in the remaining field of 52 players. All but Hollink remained when they reached 21 players.
Fitoussi was second chip leader, Pescatori was the short stack, and Hansen was nestled in between, setting up an enthralling day four.
Mickey 'The Worm' Wernick busted out of the $1,000 world championship seniors no-limit hold'em when the event had reached the final four tables. Wernick pushed all in with 9-9 but ran into A-K and A-Q, both of which connected with the flop.
Day two of the $1,500 pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better tournament saw Marcel Luske , Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott, Peter Dalhuijsen, Alan Smurfit, Sigi Stockinger, George Danzer, and Philip Marmonstein hoping to make it through the day for a final table place.
Luske, Ulliott, and Smurfit were gone before the bubble burst but Dalhuijsen finished 35th for $5,345 and German young gun Danzer made the final table with the third-shortest stack.
The $2,000 limit hold'em tournament saw the first outing of Roy 'The Boy' Brindley at the Series, as well as Rolf Slotboom, Juha Helppi, Jeff Kimber, Jan Lundberg, and Noah Boeken.
Lundberg and Boeken return tomorrow among the chip leaders.
Thursday 27 June sees day four of the $5,000 world championship H.O.R.S.E. tournament, as well as the final table of the $1,000 world championship seniors no-limit hold'em event , day two of the $2,000 limit hold'em event, and the start of the $2,000 pot-limit Omaha eight or better.
