Josh Reichard outlasted a field of 579 entries to win the 2019 Heartland Poker Tour $1,650 no-limit hold’em main event at the Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago. This was Reichard’s second main event win on the HPT, having won the main event at this same casino back in November of 2018 for $221,293. These HPT title runs resulted in the two largest paydays of Reichard’s career. With the latest win he increased his lifetime live earnings to over $1.5 million.

Reichard entered the final table of the event in second chip position behind only Mike O’Neill. Budzakoski was drawing with the JClub Suit10Heart Suit. Reichard made a full house by the river, with a KDiamond Suit turn and the 8Club Suit on the end. Budzakoski took home $20,757 as the eighth-place finisher.

David McDermott picked up pocket aces and won a three-way all-in to narrow the field to four. Henry Zou earned $29,640 as the sixth-place finisher, while Brett Apter cashed for $38,192 in fifth place.

Reichard busted Eddie Blumenthal in third place ($75,637) to take 11,115,000 into heads-up play against McDermott, who sat with 6,290,000. Reichard was ablet to extend his advantage even further before the final hand arose. Reichard shoved from the button with 7Diamond Suit3Diamond Suit and McDermott called holding KClub SuitJClub Suit.
