The 2019 Card Player Poker Tour Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland series may be anchored by the $200,000 guaranteed CPPT Live! Casino & Hotel $1,100 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event, but there are plenty of other exciting events taking place throughout the 25-event tournament series running from Oct. 25 – Nov. 7. A few days ago we posted the results from the first six events of the series. This article will look at the results from events 7-11.
CPPT Event #7 – $200 No-Limit Hold’em Eight Max:
The seventh event of the series was a $200 buy-in no-limit hold’em eight max event. The tournament attracted a total of 17 entries, creating a prize pool of $2,958 that was awarded to the top four finishers. In the end, Ravi Repole was awarded the top payout of $910.

CPPT Event #8 – $15,000 GTD $250 No-Limit Hold’em:
The next event on the schedule was a $15,000 guaranteed $250 buy-in no-limit hold’em event, which drew 71 entries to create a prize pool of $15,620. Eric Zak emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of $2,944. This was the second-largest score on the Westminster, MD resident’s live tournament resume, behind the $7,200 he earned as the 45th-place finisher in the World Poker Tour $3,500 main event held right here at Live! Casino & Hotel.

CPPT Event #9 – $100 No-Limit Hold’em Fat Stacks Bounty:
Joseph Malebranche is on quite the run in October. He finished second in the WSOP Circuit main event in Baltimore earlier this month, and then managed to finish third in event 4 at this series. Just two days after that deep run, Malebranche came out on top in event 9. The Taneytown, MD resident defeated a field of 71 entries in the $100 no-limit hold’em ‘Fat Stacks Bounty’ event, earning $1,338 as the champion of this event.

CPPT Event #10 – $200 No-Limit Hold’em Six-Max:
The tenth tournament of the series was a $200 buy-in six-max no-limit hold’em event. With 52 entries the tournament created a prize pool of $9,048, which was ultimately split up amongst the top seven finishers.
Baltimore, MD resident Michael Floyd secured the title and the top prize of $2,888 and his first recorded live tournament title.
Seniors event champion Timothy Little finished third for $1,221.

CPPT Event #11 – $20,000 GTD $120 No-Limit Hold’em Triple Stacks Special:
A total of 203 entries were made in event 11, the $20,000 guaranteed $120 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘Triple Stacks Special’. The strong turnout built a prize pool of $20,300.
In the end it was Robert McFadden of Bel Air, MD who emerged victorious, earning $3,813 for the win. The top four finishers made a deal based that re-arranged their payouts, with Molissa Farber taking home $3,357, William Toole securing $2,410 and Robert Kosydar locking up $2,225.
Timothy Little earned $977 as the fifth-place finisher. This was his third cash of the series.

“We are excited to be teaming up with the Card Player Poker Tour for the second time,” said The Poker Room at Live! Casino & Hotel Tournament Director Jason Heidenthal. “The room opened in 2013 and since then our goal has been to make it the premier tournament destination in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area.”
The Poker Room at Live! Casino & Hotel is one of the largest on the East Coast, with 15,000 square feet of room and 50 tables available for 24/7, around-the-clock action. The luxurious and comfortable room will play host to 13 days of exciting tournament play, with a variety of games and formats on the schedule. There are four bounty events, a $200 six-max no-limit hold’em event, a $300 H.O.R.S.E. event, a $200 limit five-card Omaha, a tag-team switch event, a $300 survivor tournament, ladies and seniors tournaments and much more.
The $200,000 guaranteed CPPT Live! Casino & Hotel no-limit hold’em main event sports two starting flights, with day 1A kicking off at 12:15 on Nov. 1 and day 1B at 12:15 on Nov. 2. Players will begin with 40,000 in chips, with 40-minute levels on the two starting days and hour-long levels on day 2. The event will feature unlimited re-entry, with late registration available until the start of day 2.
There will be plenty of ways for players to win their way into the big guaranteed tournaments that are on the schedule for this series.
“We plan on running a lot of satellites for both the kickoff tournament and the main event,” said Heidenthal. “There will be tons of ways for people to get into the $200,000 guaranteed CPPT main event. Those satellites will start being offered in early October.”
The Live! Casino & Hotel first teamed up with the Card Player Poker Tour in January of 2018. The inaugural series featured 16 events, with the marquee tournament being the $1,100 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em main event. The tournament attracted a total of 307 total entries, blowing away the $200,000 guarantee to build a final prize pool of $307,000. The lion’s share of that was awarded to eventual champion Eric Ladny, who took home $54,022 and became the first-ever CPPT champion decided in Maryland.
