Station Casinos on Friday, along with 300 of its team members, conducted a ceremonial groundbreaking for the upcoming Durango Casino & Resort, slated to open in late 2023.

The property will be located in the southwest part of Las Vegas near Rhodes Ranch.

The groundbreaking ceremony included Red Rock Resorts, Inc. Chairman and CEO Frank Fertitta III and Vice Chairman Lorenzo Fertitta, among other executives.

Red Rock Resorts is the parent company of Station Casinos.

“Station Casinos is bullish on the local and overall Las Vegas gaming market, which is why we are investing $750 million in Durango Station,” Scott Kreeger, President of Station Casinos, said.

“This brick-and-mortar investment will create thousands of construction and permanent jobs, generating tens of millions of dollars in economic impact and tax revenue to the state and county.”

The property will have 83,000 square feet of gambling space and 200 hotel rooms. A sportsbook is planned, but a presser didn’t mention a poker room.
