John Dollinger emerged victorious in the latest World Series of Poker Circuit main event hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The win came with $147,148 in prize money and a second WSOPC gold ring for Dollinger, who now has more than $1 million in career earnings.

“It does feel really good. I haven’t won an event in nine years,” Dollinger told WSOP reporters. “It’s my first time in Tulsa. I flew in Friday and came just to play one tournament, and I already booked my flight going back tonight. So I kind of just planned on winning, and came out here and won it. It feels good.”

“When there were 50 players left in [WSOP Circuit] Graton, I was chip leader, and then I went out around 40th place. And the reason I busted was sort of my fault, because I talked someone into calling me,” Dollinger offered. “The guy who knocked me out went on to win the tournament and I told him I would win the next one.”

The $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament drew a field of 487 entries, building a final prize pool up to $737,805. The top 74 players all took home at least $3,404. There were 78 players that returned for Day 2 with the final six advancing to the final day of play.

Kiran Suresh fell first in sixth place at the final table, and Yordanos Mebrahtu was out in fifth before four-time WSOPC ring winner Russell Brooks completed a trilogy of bustouts to start the last day by taking out James Jewell in fourth.

Dollinger continued to steer clear of the elimination hands at the final table, with Brooks earning yet another knockout to send Iman Alsaden packing in third place. That gave Brooks a 3:2 chip advantage heading into the final match, but Dollinger quickly took the lead between the final two ahead of the final deal.

Brooks got all-in with 9Diamond Suit8Diamond Suit after a flop of 9Club Suit6Club Suit2Spade Suit, and Dollinger had him covered holding QDiamond Suit9Heart Suit. The turn and river fell QClub Suit2Heart Suit, and Dollinger made queens up to secure the pot and the title.

Brooks was awarded close to six figures for his impressive showing in this event, and that put his total earnings above $445,000.
