The circus that is the 2009 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) continues to perform nightly and the pros are just having their way with the various games offered in the series.
In 2008, Justin “robert07” Young had a breakout year on the live circuit, eventually finishing in 19th place in the Card Player Player of the Year standings. In event no. 41, Young returned to his online roots for his first WCOOP bracelet and a score worth $52,600 in heads-up pot-limit Omaha.
Not one to be outdone, David “RugDoctor” Williams came up with a huge score of his own, taking down event no. 42 for $107,800. The tournament featured an 8-game mix of various disciplines and Williams proved to be superior, besting a final table that included the likes of Alexander “joiso” Kostritsyn, Van “Sirens” Marcus and Matt “plattsburgh” Vengrin.
