Michael O’Sullivan Wins Irish Winter Festival Main Event

PaddyPowerPoker’s Irish Winter Festival Goes Down a Treat in Dublin; Young Irishman Wins Irish Masters

Paul DooleyThe PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Winter Festival drew the best of Irish talent and indeed a good sprinkling of international flair to the Citywest Hotel in Dublin last weekend. The all-important Irish Masters played out over three days and saw 398 players taking part in the €1,650 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event.

In the early hours of this morning, it was Michael O’Sullivan who took home the top prize of €143,000 from the total prizepool of €597,000. The young student beat Michael Murphy heads-up when his A-K dominated Murphy’s pocket jacks with an ace on the river.

Murphy took home €88,500 for his second place finish.

The final table payouts were:

1st — Michael O’Sullivan (€143,000)

2nd — Michael Murphy (€88,500)

3rd — Gary Mealy (€55,300)

4th — Matej Kokalj (€44,800)

5th — Igor Kurganov (€35,900)

6th — Stephen Devlin (€28,400)

7th — Paul Dooley (€22,400)

8th — Graham Masters (€17,900)

9th — John Cassidy (€13,500)

The seventh place finisher was also the IWF Sole Survivor. Paul Dooley [pictured top right] outlasted 61 other PaddyPowerPoker.com online qualifiers and became the new owner of a package worth €20,000.
