Howard Lederer has won heat one of the FullTiltPoker.com Poker Million IX beating recent World Series of Poker bracelet winner Richard “Chufty” Ashby heads up.
Ashby entered heads up with a three-to-one chip lead but Lederer battled back to take a two-to-one chip lead before losing it again, clawing his way back to chip leader and finally doing Ashby in when his pocket jacks improved to trips against Ashby’s K-3 on the 200th hand of the game.
“Sometimes you just have to stick around and be patient to progress in a tournament,” said Lederer.
