Level Three: Ivey Out Of ReloadsJul 01, '10 Blinds: 75-150 Players Remaining: 347 Tournament Leaderboard: 1. Tex Barch – 36,000 Average Chip Count: Notable Eliminations: None Big Hands: Elezra’s Two Pair Better Than Ivey’s Picking up the action after the board had run out K7544, Eli Elezra had moved all in and Phil Ivey made the call. Elezra: KQ76 Ivey had made kings and fives but Elezra’s kings and sevens were the better hand and he doubled to over 30,000 after the hand with all three reload chips intact. Ivey was down to 20,000 but all his rebuy chips were gone. Liebert Avoids Showdown Four players limped in and saw a flop of Q87. The action checked around to the player in seat 4 who bet 700. Kathy Liebert was the only caller and they both saw the 7 on the turn. Both players checked and the river was the 6. Liebert then led out for 1,500 and seat 4 stared her down for a bit before mucking his hand. Liebert took the pot and was at 11,000 with three reload chips. Pescatori Doubles Through Elezra Picking up the action on a flop of Q72, Max Pescatori bet 3,000 and Eli Elezra made the call, as did the player in seat 3. The turn was the 5 and Pescatori moved all in for 3,750. Elezra made the call and seat 3 got out of the way. Pescatori then showed AJ104 for a couple of flush draws. Elezra turned over KQ63 for top pair and a gutshot straight draw. The river was the 8 to complete Pescatori’s flush and double his stack to 10,000 with three reload chips. Level 4 Update: Mortensen Doubles UpJun 12, '10 Limits: 500-1,000 Players Remaining: 211 out of 212 Average Chip Count: 30,142 Card Player Chip Counts: Barry Shulman – 15,000 Tournament Leaderboard: 1. Allen Kessler – 46,000 Notable Eliminations: none Big Hands: Pescatori Misreads Hand, Still Gets Half We caught up with the action on the turn and found Max Pescatori leading out on a 793J board. He was called by the player on his left, Scotty Nguyen, and Barry Shulman. The river was the 8 and Pescatori fired another 1,000 bullet and was called by Nguyen and Shulman. “Straight and a deuce-five,” said Pescatori as he tabled the 56K2. “Deuce-three,” replied Nguyen as he tabled the A5103, giving him a better low than Pescatori. “This is so sick,” said Shulman as he mucked his cards. “I should have just raised the turn.” “I misread my hand on the turn when I bet,” said Pescatori as he was taking half of the pot. Nguyen has 40,000, Pescatori has 25,000, and Shulman slipped to 15,000 Hellmuth Flushed Out Phil Hellmuth raised from under-the-gun and was called by one player. They saw a flop of 963 and both players checked. The turn was the Q and Hellmuth bet and was called. The river was the K and the same action happened. “Straight,” announced Hellmuth. But before he could turn over his cards, his opponent tabled J6A3, good for a flush. Mortensen Doubles Up On a flop of KJ4, Carlos Mortensen checked, the next player bet, then there was a fold, and then a raise by Freddy Deeb. Mortensen called two bets cold and the original bettor tossed in a call. The turn was the 2 and Mortensen bet and was called by Deeb and the other player. The river was the 8 and Mortensen bet and was all-in. The next player raised and Deeb called. Deeb mucked after Mortensen showed the 10-9-8-8 and the other player showed the A-K-5-3. Mortensen chopped the pot with the other player, who took half with the nut low and is up to 7,000. Player Tags: Scotty Nguyen, Max Pescatori, Carlos Mortensen, Phil Hellmuth, Barry Shulman |

Level Four: Nick Binger ReloadsJun 09, '10 Blinds: 100-200 with a 50 ante Players Remaining: 99 out of 101 Notable Eliminations: Players Twitter Accounts: Daniel Negreanu Note: Players have gone on a 60-minute dinner break and will return at 10:25 p.m. Big Hands: Nick Binger Goes Broke, Momentarily Anyway Nick Binger raised to 600 before the draw and Doyle Brunson made the call. Action then folded around to David Williams who popped it to 2,000. Binger then moved in for 4,100 more. Brunson had enough and mucked but Williams made the call. Williams then stood pat and Binger drew one card. Williams turned over J-10-7-6-4 and laughed when Binger gasped in frustration. “I threw away a jack,” Binger said in frustration. He showed 9-6-5-3 but mucked the card he was dealt and had to use one the first of his add-ons. Williams was up to 24,000 with one add-on behind. Smith Gets A Boost We picked up the action on this hand after the draw. Justin Smith bet 800 and he was called by his opponent in seat 3. “Show me you 10,” seat 3 said. Smith showed an 8-7-6-4-2, which was good as his opponent tabled 9-8-6-3-2. Smith won a crucial pot as he was at 23,000 with no add-on chips behind. Juanda Takes It Down Picking up the action on the draw, the player in seat 2 took two cards, John Juanda took one card and Max Pescatori took two cards. All three players then checked and Juanda turned over Q-9-7-6-2. “Ship it over!” Juanda comically yelled. “Yes!” Both of his opponents mucked and Juanda threw out a playful fist pump and raked in the pot. He was at 18,000 with two add-ons while Pescatori was at 5,000 with two add-ons. Baxter Nabs A Pot Picking up the action on the draw, the player in seat 4 took two cards and Billy Baxter did the same. J.C. Tran stood pat and then Baxter led out for 1,500. Both of his opponents mucked relatively quickly and Baxter was at 16,000 with two add-ons remaining. Tran was at 11,000 with all three add-ons behind. Left In The Deck: Off To Play Some Limit Daniel Negreanu asked the floor earlier what would happen with his add-ons if he was blinded out and not present. The floor answered that his add-ons would be used one at a time and not all at once. Negreanu’s presence in the tournament has disappeared as he has gone off to play in event no. 18 ($2,000 limit hold’em). He had a relatively short stack and used this time to try and build it up as the field will go on a 60-minute dinner break after this level, giving Negreanu two hours to build up a decent stack in that event or bust.
