Mizrachi: AA Board: K5584. Mizrachi was ahead before the flop with an over pair of aces and both opponents failed to improve by the river as Mizrachi raked both the main and side pots. Bruno Fitoussi was eliminated in 8th ($169,879) and Bill Chen was eliminated in 7th place ($205,856), as Mizrachi secured the chip lead with about 5.1 million after the double knockout. Mizrachi Extends Lead Michael Mizrachi was off to a good start today and managed to really extend his chip lead over the field in just one level of play. After eliminating both Bill Chen and Bruno Fitoussi in the same hand, Mizrachi then went on to take some chips from Stephen Chidwick. Mizrachi won a big Stud showdown with trip fours that knocked Chicdwick down to about 1.6 million and put Luke Scwartz under 1 million in chips. Mizrachi then went on to quarter Chidwick in a big Omaga 8 showdown that put Mizrachi at about 5.8 million and left Chidwick with just over 1 million in chips. Stephen Chidwick Elimianted in 6th Place ($253,497) PLO Stephen Chidwick opened the small blind for 72,000 and Michael Mizrachi called from the big blind. The flop came 882, Chidwick bet 60,000 and Mizrachi called. The turn was the 3, Chidwick moved all in for 230,000 and Mizrachi called. Mizrachi: A842 Mizrachi flopped a full house and Chidwick failed to improve with the 3 on the river. Stephen Chidwick was eliminated in 6th place ($253,497) while Mizrachi took a commanding chip lead with about 7.2 million. Their cards: Ho: Q Q Board: 9 8 6 10 K Ho doubled up to 28,000 to survive heading into the last level of the night. Scott Montgomery Eliminated by the New Chip Leader The board read 8 6 2 J J when Fred Berger moved all in UTG+1 and Scott Montgomery went into the tank in late position. He eventually decided to make the call and the cards were flipped over. Berger showed down J 9 and Montgomery held 8 7. They counted out the chips and Montgomery was covered. He headed toward the rail while Berger stacked up his huge amount of chips. Berger held more than 200,000 after the hand and he should end the night as the chip leader. Judah Doubles up an Opponent Mel Judah raised to 1,000 preflop from middle position and the button raised all in for a mere 2,775. Judah made the call and they flipped over their cards: Judah: A Q Board: K K 10 6 10 Judah doubled up his opponent but is still close to his starting stack of 30,000 near the end of the day 1A. Johnny Lodden Lays it Down Johhny Lodden was in the hi-jack and and he paid the price of admission preflop against the button. The flop fell 10 5 3 and Lodden bet 1,600. His opponent made the call and the turn fell 3. Both players checked and the river fell 8. Lodden checked and his opponent fired out 2,400. Chen check-called fourth street, but check-folded fifth street and Ivey is up to 1,700,000. Ivey Pulls Even Hold’em Bill Chen raised on the button and Phil Ivey called. They saw a flop of 86Q and both players checked. Ivey bet the J on the turn and the 3 river. Chen called the turn bet, but released his hand to the river bullet. Ivey and Chen are now dead even with just over 2 million each. Chen Loses A Bunch, Then Gets Some Back Omaha-8 Bill Chen had lose several pots in a row and was down under a million chips after getting scooped in several omaha 8 or better pots when this hand took place. Bill Chen called a raise from Phil Ivey and the flop came Q74. Chen checked and called a bet on the flop and checked and called a bet on the 3 turn card. The river was the 4 and both players checked. Chen showed the A678 and scooped the pot with a 6-low and a pair of sevens. Chen is back up to 1,500,000 after that pot and scooping the next one with a pair and a low. Ken Aldridge — $93,418 Big Hands: Ken Aldridge Eliminated in Fourth Place ($93,418) Omaha-8 Ken Aldridge limped in on the button, John Juanda called in the small blind and Phil Ivey checked his option in the big blind. The flop came 10J2 and Juanda checked to Ivey, who bet and was raised by Aldridge. Juanda folded and Ivey called. The 8 fell on the turn and Aldridge got the rest of his chips in against Ivey. Aldridge showed the JQ32, giving him jacks and deuces, and Ivey showed J968, giving him jacks and eights. Neither player had a low draw and the 8 gave Ivey a full house and the pot, sending Aldridge home in third. Ivey called a bet from Juanda on fourth and bet into Juanda on fifth. It was enough to put Juanda all-in and he made the call with pocket eights. He was ahead, made two pair on sixth and stayed ahead when Ivey bricked the river. Juanda is up to 460,000 and Ivey fell to 800,000. Ivey Loses Some to Chen Stud Ivey: (X-X):3-6-7-K Phil Ivey brought it in and called a completion from Bill Chen. Ivey bet both fourth and fifth street and was called by Chen both times. On sixth street, Ivey checked and folded to a bet from Chen. Ivey is down to 600,000 and Chen is up to 3,250,000. Juanda is down to 450,000. Juanda Eliminated in Third Place ($129,553) Stud Ivey: (2-8)-2-4-8-10/2 John Juanda completed on third and was raised by Phil Ivey who brought it in. Juanda called and check-raised fourth street. Ivey called the raise on fourth street and the rest of the money got in on fifth street. “You got anything?” Juanda asked. “Two pair,” replied Ivey. Juanda let out an expletive as he showed his ace-high. Juanda ran two pair, aces-up, but Ivey filled up and it didn’t matter. Ivey now will go heads-up with Bill Chen for the bracelet. The flop came 5104 and both players checked. The turn the 2 and Chen led out and Brown raised all-in and was called by Chen. Both players were drawing when brown showed the J9 and Chen showed the 76. Brown had the best hand with jack-high, but the 6 came on the river and Brown was the first casualty of the official final table. Juanda Tops Lisandro Razz Juanda: (X-X)-4-9-7-A-(X) John Juanda completed on third and was raised by Lisandro on his left. Juanda called and caught better on fourth and fifth and bet both streets and was called by Lisandro. Juanda kept the aggression by betting sixth and seventh street as well. Lisandro called on sixth but folded seventh, showing that he had the 4-5-2 in the hole and couldn’t muster up better than a 10-low. Lots of Checking for Big Hands Stud Chen: (X-X)-5-2-3-4/X Bill Chen completed thir street and was called by Jeff Lisandro. Chen bet fourth after Lisandro checked and Lisandro bet fifth and was called by Chen. Both players checked sixth street and Chen checked his hole cards several times. “Want to check again?” asked Lisandro. “You check? Ok, I check. I have queens up,” said Chen as he showed Q-Q-2 in the hole. Lisandro showed J-J-8, good for jacks-full and took the pot. Baker Doubles Through Ivey Stud Ivey: (2-4)-8-8-6-7/10 Ivey double-bet an open pair of eights on fourth and was called by Baker. Hastings And Fossilman Tangle Brian Hastings bet 13,000 after a flop of J77 landed on the felt. Greg Raymer thought about his options before deciding to muck his hand. Flop Kills Action Picking up the action after the flop, the board read QJ3. Four players each put in about 5,000 preflop and Josh Arieh, David Bach, Chad Brown and Daniel Alaei all checked their option. The turn was the 8 and they all checked again. The river was the A and the passive play continued. Bach turned over 7653 for a flush and it was good enough to take down the pot. He was at 110,000 after the hand. 2-7 Triple Draw Alioto Low Bridges Negreanu We caught up with this hand on the second draw. Abe Mosseri folded his hand and Dario Alioto drew one card. Daniel Negreanu stood pat and led out before the final draw. Alioto made the call and drew one card. He then led out with a bet, much to the displeasure of Negreanu who made the call. Alioto turned over 8-5-4-3-2 for the 8-perfect and Negreanu could only wave his arms in disgust as he showed 8-7-5-3-2. He was down to just 70,000 after the hand while Alioto was at 60,000. Limit Hold’em Huck Flushes Elezra’s Trips Huck Seed raised to 5,000 preflop and Eli Elezra called from the big blind. Elezra checked a flop of K43 and Seed fired 2,500 into the pot. Elezra called and the K fell on the turn. After checking to Seed’s 5,000 bet, Elezra raised it to 10,000. Seed called and Elezra checked the 5 river. Seed bet 5,000 and was called, only to show AA for the nut flush, while Elezra held losing trips, AK. The pot put Seed around 230,000 in chips and Elezra dropped to around 175,000. Giang Flushes South Picking up the hand after the river, the board ran out Q9877 and Giang made a bet. Cole South made the call and Giang showed A5 for the nut flush. South mucked his hand and was down to 180,000 while Giang was up to 225,000.
