The PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Winter Festival is taking place this weekend at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, and yesterday its main event, the Irish Masters, saw a total of 347 players turn out for day 1, creating a prize pool in excess of €500,000.
Of the 347, 105 qualified for the €1,650 buy-in event via PaddyPowerPoker.com meaning they are now competing to be the €20,000 Sole Survivor.
Day 2 of the main event kicks off at 2 p.m. today with 110 remaining players. Some well-known names not returning to the felt however are Neil Channing, Andy Black, and last year’s winner Michael O’Sullivan.
