Turning Stone Resort Casino became New York State’s first-ever host of satellites for the World Series of Poker ahead of the 2022 WSOP. The venue also hosted its first WSOP Circuit stop, making it the first and only casino in New York to host official WSOP events. After the success of last year’s WSOPC stop, with Joe Rice topping a sizable field of 891 entries in the main event to earn $238,870, WSOP action is set to return to Turning Stone.
A second WSOPC stop is now scheduled for March 16-27, 2023, with more details about the series expected soon.
There will also be a second $1,400 buy-in WSOP Main Event held at noon local time on January 1, 2023 that will see 1 in 10 players walk away with a $13,000 package for the 2023 WSOP main event in Las Vegas. The package includes the $10,000 seat in poker’s world championship and $3,000 in money for travel. The event will feature 15,000 starting stacks, with 25-minute blind levels and nine-handed tables.
Players who want to win their way into that $1,400 buy-in tournament will have ample opportunity. There will be $175 buy-in satellites running Friday-Sunday from Oct. 21 through December 18. Those satellites will also see 1 in 10 move on to the $1,400 buy-in. The $175 buy-in satellites start with 10,000 in chips and feature 15-minute blind levels.
The $175 satellites will kick off at 7:00 PM local time on Fridays, both noon and 7:00 PM on Saturdays, and 2:00 PM on Sundays. There will not be any WSOP satellites held on Nov. 25-27.
