The $10 million guarantee placed on the 2024 Wynn Summer Classic $10,400 buy-in main event was no sweat, as 1,440 entries were made by the time that registration closed to see the final prize pool balloon to $14,112,000.

After three starting flights and three more days of action, it was two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Nick Petrangelo who emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of $2,221,775.

This was the second-largest score recorded to date by Petrangelo, trailing only the $2,910,227 he was awarded as the champion of the 2018 WSOP $100,000 high roller. He now has more than $38 million in lifetime tournament earnings to his name, good for 17th place on poker’s all-time money list.

Petrangelo was also awarded 2,400 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win. This was his second title and sixth final-table finish so far. With 4,476 total points, he now sits in 10th place in the 2024 POY race standings presented by Global Poker.

Full results are not yet posted for this event, but the top six finishers have been revealed. Petrangelo came into the final day of this tournament in second chip position, trailing only Gustavo Ortega Jimez.

Rehman Kassam (6th – $457,511) and Kurt Jewell (5th – $616,553) were the first to fall. Turkey’s Selahaddin Bedir earned a career-best score of $832,749 as the fourth-place finisher, growing his lifetime earnings to more than $5.8 million in the process.

The UK’s Lewis Spencer also recorded his highest payday yet with a deep run in this event. He walked away with $1,123,597 after bowing out in third place. This was his first seven-figure tournament cash. It increased his career haul to nearly $4.2 million.

In the final hand, Jimenez was all-in with A-7 facing pocket fives for Petrangelo. Neither player connected with the board and Jimenez was eliminated in second place, earning $1,516,617 as the runner-up.

Here is a look at the payouts and POY points awarded to the final six:
