PaddyPowerPoker has announced the 2010 Irish Winter Festival, a four-day poker frenzy which will include the €1,500 + €150 buy-in Irish Masters main event, plus numerous side events.
The Festival will take place at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin from Oct. 22–25, but until then there are plenty of online super satellites to attempt at PaddyPowerPoker.com. Every Sunday at 8.45 p.m. the site will host a super satellite which will give away one IWF package for every €2,700 in the prize pool. The package includes an Irish Masters seat, accommodation, and expenses.
Anyone who wins a package on the site is eligible for the €20k Sole Survivor promotion. This “tournament within a tournament” sees all Sole Survivors compete against each other to be the last player standing and get the €20,000 prize package. The package can be won in conjunction with whatever prize money the Sole Survivor may win in the main event.
Paddy Power, Communications Manager for PaddyPowerPoker, said, “I’m delighted to launch this year’s Irish Winter Festival €20k Sole Survivor promotion; our players really love it. The Sole Survivor element means that players shouldn’t dream of qualifying anywhere else, it just doesn’t make sense! We also have some great plans for spicing up this year’s festival and making it unmissable; I’ll announce these in a few weeks!”
A full schedule of side events will also be made available shortly.
Last year Michael O’Sullivan took home the top prize of €143,000. The seventh-place finisher was also the IWF Sole Survivor – Paul Dooley outlasted 61 other PaddyPowerPoker online qualifiers to receive the €20,000 package on top of his main event prize money.
