Vyacheslav Zhukov limped from the button and George Lind completed the small blind for the side pot. Both players checked the side pot to a showdown on a board of Q 8 5 J K. Billirakis turned over A J 8d 6 for two pair while Zhukov showed K K Q 4 for top set, eliminating Steve Billirakis in 3rd place ($214,697). George Lind took the chip lead into the final match with just over 3.5 million to Vyacheslav Zhukov’s 2.5 million. Vyacheslav Zhukov Takes Chip Lead In a pot worth well over 1.5 million, Vyacheslav Zhukov scooped with quad sevens, taking the chip lead for the first time during heads-up play. This put him at about 3.3 million to Lind’s 2.7 million. Soon after gaining the chip lead, Vyacheslav Zhukov widened the gap after quartering Lind in a big pot. Lind was the aggressor the entire way with the made nut low on the turn, but got counterfeited on the river when a deuce hit and he was forced to split the low pot with Zhukov. Zhukov won the high half with two pair, and after being quartered in this pot, Lind is now facing a serious chip deficit of 1.2 million to Zhukov’s 4.8 million. The turn was the 7 and the river was the 3, which couldn’t give Kostritsyn quads for a sick beat. Two players at the table claimed they had folded aces after the hands were turned up, so they are either playing with an illegal deck of cards, or the players’ memory are slipping a bit. The turn was the 7 and the river was the 3, which couldn’t give Kostritsyn quads for a sick beat. Two players at the table claimed they had folded aces after the hands were turned up, so they are either playing with an illegal deck of cards, or the players’ memory are slipping a bit. Bellande Busts One Steven Padres moved all-in preflop and was called by Jean-Robert Bellande. Bellande was in a commanding position with his KK against Padre’s QQ. Seat 7 tabled 87 for a pair of eights and a heart draw on the flop. Rousso dropped a big pot before the break and she was down to 26,000 after starting the hand with close to 49,000. Here were their hands: Baron: 22 Baron flopped a set to crack the queens but the board finished off 10 and 8 to give his opponent the flush and Baron dropped to 33,000. A few hands later, Baron moved those 33,000 all in and was called by one player. Baron tabled 77 while his opponent tabled 44. The board ran out 1082Q2 and his pair held up. He doubled to 70,000. Negreanu Gets No Takers Daniel Negreanu raised to 4,600 preflop and he was called by a player in late position and then by one of the blinds. Robert Hits The Slot Machine On The River Robert Mizrachi raised to 4,400 from the cutoff and the player on the button made the call. The flop came down Q82 and Mizrachi bet 5,500. The button called and the turn was the 2. Both players checked and the river was the 7. Mizrachi fired 14,600 and his opponent made the call. Mizrachi tabled 77 for a rivered boat and his opponent mucked. Mizrachi was at 414,000. Rousso Doubles We didn’t catch all of the action but Vanessa Rousso moved all in for about 15,000 and was called by one player. Rousso tabled A-6 and her opponent had K-J. OMG Kelly Kim Kelly Kim raised to 3,800 and was met with a three-bet to 10,700 by Phil Galfond. Kim moved all-in for around 35,000 and was snap-called by Galfond. Galfond showed AA and Kim showed JJ. Galfond was in good shape until the dealer peeled off the J in the window. The other two flop cards were the 8 and the 6 and now Galfond was the one in trouble. The turn was the 5 and the river was the K and Kim doubled up to 72,000. Naujoks’ Bluff Gone Wrong Sandra Naujoks fired 15,000 on the turn with the board reading 22J4 and was called by her opponent. Naujoks tabled A8, for a complete bluff and her opponent tabled AQ, giving him the nut flush and Naujoks was sent packing. Pavilion Room Coverage Gabe Walls Playing Aggressive Gabe Walls bet from late position and a player on the button three-bet him to 8,200. The action was back to Walls and he four-bet to 22,000. His opponent tanked before finally folding. Walls flashed a 2 and took the pot. He was at 364,000 after the hand. Jared Hamby Moves All In Twice, Eliminated on Second Kevin Bates made it 3,000 from under the gun and two players called. Action was on Jared Hamby on the button. He elected to shove for 36,200 total. Everyone folded and Hamby took the pot to increase his stack to about 46,000. A couple hands later, Steve Billirakis bet and was three-bet by a player directly to his left. Hamby moved all in on the button and it was folded to Billirakis. Billirakis announced all in and the three-bettor folded. Hamby exposed the AK while Billirakis tabled the JJ. The board ran out 1010986 and Hamby was gone. Billirakis was up to about 180,000. Hamby had three cashes at the 2010 World Series of Poker. His best score was an eighth place finish in a $1,000 no-limit hold’em event for $46,077. Vanessa Selbst Takes a Pot On a board of QQJ10 action was checked to Vanessa Selbst in the cutoff. She fired out a bet of 23,500 and her opponent folded. Selbst was at 192,000 after the hand. Theo Jorgensen – 3,200,000 Brett Richey Bretty Richey Busto Dan Lu raised to 30,000 from the cutoff and Brett Richey three-bet to 90,000 from the button. After the blinds folded, Lu moved all-in and Richey made the call with his last 340,000 and showed 55. He was going to need some help from the dealer when he saw Lu’s 1010. Richey was stood up to leave the table after the turn as the board ran out QJ6103. Lu is over the million mark with the pot. Jan Boye Doubles, But Still Short Jan Boye moved all-in for 59,000 from the hijack and Christopher Bolt made the call from the big blind. Boye showed AK and was ahead of Bolt’s Q9. Bolt failed to improve and Boye doubled up to a still short 142,000. Jorgensen Takes Over Chip Lead Theo Jorgensen raised to 38,000 from the cutoff and Dorothy VonSachsen moved all-in for 75,000 from the button. Jorgensen made the call and the cards were turned on their backs. Jorgensen showed A6 and was up against the K10 of VonSachsen. The board ran out AKJ94 and one of the last women standing was sent to the rail. Jorgensen is at 3,200,000 in chips and looks to be the chip leader at the moment. Fennell Busts Billirakis Four players saw a flop of Q62. James Fennell checked from the big blind, another player checked, and Steve Billirakis bet 58,000. Garrett Adelstein called and Fennell made it 175,000. The other player got out of the way and only Billirakis called the check-raise. The turn was the 5 and Fennell bet 230,000. Billirakis then moved all-in for 734,000 and was called by Fennell. It was an unfortunate turn card for Billirakis who turned two pair with his 56 and was still behind the set of Fennell who tabled 22. The river was the 8 and Billirakis was sent to the rail. On the other hand, Fennell is just under 2,000,000 in chips. Racener in Cruise Control On the river, John Racner fired out 365,000 into a pot that already had about 500,000 in the middle with the board reading J8QKJ. Jeff Banghart called the bet, but couldn’t rake the pot as Racener showed A10, giving him broadway. Racener is now at 2,150,000 and Banghart dropped to 330,000. Dudley’s Dreams Dashed Dash Dudley was all-in for KJ for 183,000 and Sergey Serafimov called from the small blind with AK. Dudley was in bad shape as the board came out 95483 and Dudley was eliminated from this year’s main event. Siegel Gets the Best of Kostritsyn Jordan Siegel got his last 322,000 into the middle preflop and got a call from Alexander Kostritsyn. Kostritsyn held pocket tens, but was behind Siegel’s pocket aces. The flop came 710A, leaving Kostritsyn drawing to just the case ten for the win. The board ran out A927K to give Bellande the pot and if Bellande keeps running like this, maybe he wont be “BrokelivingJRB” on twitter anymore. He is now up to 1,260,000. Mizrachi Doubles On a flop of 988, Robert Mizrachi moved all-in for his last 132,000 and was called by Vern Keller. Mizrachi showed KK and Keller tabled 95. Robbins tabled K-Q and Billirakis showed AK. The board ran out good for Billirakis as it came 649K9. Robbins shook Billirakis’ hand and headed to claim his prize money. Matros Crippled Compliments of a Cold Deck Matt Matros and Kevin Stani got all of Stani’s chips in the middle preflop. Matros showed KK, but ran into the AA of Stani. The board came A8763 and Matros lost 294,000 to Stani, leaving him with just 59,000. Matros was eliminated just an orbit later. The Johnny Chan Show Continues on Day Five Andrew Jeter moved in his last 42,000 from the small blind after Johnny Chan had raised under-the-gun. Chan made the call and it was off to showdown. Jeter showed K8 and Chan was ahead with pocket threes. The board came out Q32AJ. Chan is up to 1,170,000 and Jeter is off to collect his money. Soulier Gone Fabrice Soulier moved all-in for his last 79,000 from the cutoff and David Emmons three-bet from the button to isolate and both blinds folded. Soulier was in trouble when Emmons showed AK and Soulier could only muster up K10. Soulier caught a good flop of Q106, but the J on the turn gave Emmons the nut straight. The 8 couldn’t salvage a chop for Soulier and he was eliminated. Buchman Eliminated as Rice Doubles Shawn Rice and Eric Buchman got into a prelflop battle with Rice and Buchman being on the button and in the big blind. They ended up getting all-in with very similar stack sizes. Buchman showed KQ and Rice held KK. After they counted out the stacks, it was revealed that Rice had Buchman covered by just 2,000 chips. The board ran out 599A7 and Buchman’s chances at a repeat of last year’s final table appearance are over. Hougaard Slips Isaac Krantz moved all-in on a flop of J64 and Jesper Hougaard quickly made the call. Hougaard showed pocket kings, but had to fade some cards when Krantz showed 57, giving him an open-ended straight draw. The 8 on the turn meant that Hougaard went from first to worst and he slipped to 757,000 and Krantz doubled up to 320,000. Rast Sent Packing Brian Rast raised from early position and Greg Schaefer three-bet from middle position. Rast made the call and the fop came Q94. All the money got in the middle and Rast showed A7, good for a flush draw and Schaefer showed AQ, giving him top pair. The turn was the 10 and the river was the A. Rast missed his draw and he was sent to the rail, while Schaefer is now up to 810,000 in chips. David Peters Doubles Up David Peters got his stack of about 300,000 in preflop with the AK versus the 75 of an opponent. The board ran out J10368 and he doubled to about 640,000. Brett Richey Doubles Up A player in middle position bet 16,000 and Brett Richey moved all in for 209,000. His opponent went into the tank before eventually making the call. Richey exposed the AK while his opponent tabled the AQ. The board ran out K102104 and Richey doubled to about 460,000. Shannon Shorr Eliminated On a board of K1033 one player was already all in. There was a side pot between Shannon Shorr and another player. Shorr and his opponent got all the money in and Shorr tabled pocket tens but was no good against the pocket kings of his opponent. The river bricked for Shorr and his stack of over 400,000 was gone. The other all-in player had A-K and was also eliminated. Lauren Kling Eliminated Lauren Kling moved all in preflop for 52,000 with the AQ and was called by an opponent with the 88. The pocket pair held as the board ran out 10-6-5-2-9. Kling was gone. Eric Baldwin Doubles Up a Player A player in late position moved all in for 93,000 and it was folded to Eric Baldwin in the small blind. Baldwin tanked before finally moving all in over the top to force the big blind out. Baldwin’s opponent tabled the QQ and Baldwin exposed the 77. The queens held as the board ran out 662AJ. Baldwin was still at over 400,000 after the hand.
