Larry Flynt's Hustler Casino continues its strong growth and promises to be a driving force in the development of California gaming. Surging through its second year of operation and gearing up for its third, Hustler Casino believes that giving back to its players has been the key to its great success. During the past year, the casino has enjoyed outstanding response to its Beat the Landlord freeroll tournaments, cash wheel giveaways, poker and blackjack superjackpots, and car giveaways. These promotions paid bonuses to casino players in excess of $1.5 million during 2001.
When Hustler Casino opened in June 2000, Larry Flynt was the landlord and resident celebrity. Flynt now holds the gaming license and is a "total casino owner." A hands-on supervisor, Flynt is committed to improving customer service and quality at all levels for the coming year. He vows to continue Hustler's policy of "giving back to our players" by adding progressive jackpots and lucrative freeroll tournaments. "This is an exciting and challenging time for California casinos, and I am intent on remaining a participant in their growth and revitalization," stated Flynt. This commitment is a serious promise from a business maverick who has a long history of making great things happen. Being an avid card player may not necessarily mean a man is cut out to be a successful casino operator, but one look at Flynt's string of accomplishments is enough to see that his odds for success are the closest thing there is to a lock.
With no prior publishing experience, the future magnate created and edited Bachelor's Beat, a precursor to Hustler magazine. Later, in 1972, Flynt introduced the Hustler Newsletter, a compendium of Hustler Club events, humor, philosophy, and topical news. The response was good, and the Newsletter ultimately evolved into Hustler. Flynt's premiere magazine was born, much as we know it today, in July 1974. During the quarter-century that followed, Flynt launched or acquired more than three dozen magazines on such diverse subjects as electronics, music, computers, sports, and more. He also built Flynt Distributing Company into a national distributor of more than 150 magazines. Flynt's keen business sense and winning outlook are two keys to the ongoing success of his casino.
At Hustler Casino, Flynt is redoubling efforts to improve food and service quality. "We're in the process of updating our menu and making key upgrades to ensure the highest level of quality and service in the industry," said General Manager Craig Kaufman. The desire to be tops in player satisfaction accounts for a prominently displayed suggestion box located on the casino floor. A sign with Flynt's photo reads, "I want Hustler Casino to be the best in California. Give me your suggestions."
"Suggestions are taken seriously and are read by all key staff members, including Larry Flynt," added Kaufman. He also noted, "I want the casino to be considered a 'players casino.' Being a player myself for so many years, I know what players' expectations are and how they deserve to be treated."
Flynt's Hustler Casino stakes out its claim for the biggest action with the largest continuous stud game in the world, $1,500-$3,000 with a $25,000 buy-in. Flynt makes time to host the popular $80-$160 stud games held every Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. Playing at the casino three or four times a week, Flynt provides players a unique opportunity to mingle with the man in action. There is also a Monday night High-Rollers Hold'em Shoot-out with a $2,000 buy-in, which starts at 6 p.m.
Hustler Casino recently announced the first Larry Flynt's Grand Slam of Poker tournament. This signature event will be held July 19 through July 31, 2002, and will feature appearances by notable Hustler models who will be available for autographs. Players will be pampered with gifts, food buffets, prizes, jackpots, and bonuses. There will be four Grand Slam events during the week. The Grand Slam of Poker is slated to kick off with a celebrity tournament and press event, complete with Larry Flynt, "Hustler Honeys," and many luminaries in attendance.
The casino's current $25,000 Limit Hold'em Freeroll Tournament, with an added $10,000 freeroll, has stirred up great interest with players. Players currently are qualifying early for this lucrative event. The freeroll tournament, for $6-$12 players and higher, requires 25 hours of play to qualify, and many players have already qualified and are acquiring bonus hours for additional tournament chips. A total of $25,000 will be given away on tournament day, plus the tournament winner will be given the opportunity to "Beat the Casino Boss" for $10,000 in any hold'em or stud game of his choice. This is the kind of event that is making Hustler so appealing to players. Qualifying began Jan. 17 and continues through Feb. 23. The tournament will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24.
Hustler Casino also continues to provide a blackjack mecca for Los Angeles-area players who prefer to "skip the trip" and enjoy their time playing rather than driving through the desert or waiting in airport lines. With its current blackjack and California games $100,000 Spring Giveaway promotion now in effect through March 11, Hustler stands tall as a blackjack leader in California. Qualifying hands receive free chances to win cash, and players can collect additional qualifying hands and more chances to win. In only its second year of operation, Larry Flynt's Hustler Casino has come to provide one of the best gaming experiences in the Golden State.
Hustler Casino is located at 1000 W. Redondo Beach Blvd. at Vermont in Gardena, California. Take the 110 Harbor Freeway to Redondo Beach Boulevard-West.
