Alex Goulder beat 251 players to the top prize of £77,512 at Dusk Till Dawn’s €50 + €10 buy-in Monte Carlo event. The £250,000 guaranteed tournament saw some top UK talent take part, many fresh from the felt of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Day 1A saw 82 players while day 1B attracted 170 including 26 re-entries from the first starting day. Familiar faces included Steve Jelinek, Toby Lewis, Neil Channing, JP Kelly, Roberto Romanello, James Dempsey, and Jake Cody

It was Matt Perrins and Alex Goulder who were the last men standing however with Goulder holding a 2-1 chip lead. The local player began as he meant to carry on and took the title when his A-10s beat Perrins’ J-10o. On an ace-high flop, Perrins had an inside straight draw, and the turn then brought a flush draw also. A blank river sealed the deal and made Goulder the fourth home player to win the Monte Carlo following Julian Thew, 2010 champ Fraser Bellamy, and 2009 winner Waheed Ashraf.

Perrins took home £45,315 for his runner-up finish.
