Today, former New York Senator and the newest Poker Player Alliance board member Al D'Amato will hold a live video conference that is open to anyone interested in the legality of poker in America. The conference takes place 3 p.m. ET.

The conference is sponsored by the PPA. People have the opportunity to send e-mail questions before and during the webcast, which the Senator will answer live. Click here to visit PPA's page to both register for the event and to also send in questions via email.

The senator will also talk about his new position with the PPA and what the largest poker player organization - now approaching 400,000 members - is doing to try to convince lawmakers that online poker is a game of skill that should be exempt from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

D'Amato was just featured on a cover of Card Player Magazine and the cigar-chomping senator is known for his persistence among his former colleagues. His role with the PPA will be one of lobbyist and go-between in Washington, D.C.
