In this "Strip Poker" series, Card Player covers the Las Vegas poker scene — on The Strip and around the city.

In the path to becoming an exceptional no-limit hold’em player, people will often reach a point where they are neither here nor there, meaning that they understand the game and have what it takes to win, but they stop making vast improvements. The World Series of Poker Academy is offering those players a perfect way to take their game to the next level by introducing the first ever No-Limit Hold'em Advanced Academy.

The two-day seminar is scheduled for April 18-19 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Instructed by world-class players including Howard Lederer, Annie Duke, Phil Gordon, Paul Wasicka, Andy Bloch, and Alex Outhred. Attendees will receive comprehensive seminars on topics for advanced players. Winning cash game strategy, advanced tournament stage strategy, heads-up strategy, and advanced mathematics of poker will be covered by live-hand analysis, interactive workshops, and discussions. Retired FBI agent and non-verbal communication expert Joe Navarro will also give a seminar on decoding poker tells.

At the end of each day at the Academy, participants will compete in a tournament for a $10,000 seat into the WSOP main event. Two players will get the chance to put their new knowledge to work in the richest tournament in the world.

The No-Limit Hold'em Advanced Academy costs $1,999 to attend, and space is limited. The event is expected to sell out well in advance. For more details on this and other WSOP Academies, click here.
